how to pass theory test first time

You’ll get a letter at the test centre. It’ll tell you which parts you did not score enough points on so you know what to practise.
You must book and take the full test again, even if you passed one part this time.

The actual theory test is done by clicking your way through a number of questions. These are typically related to traffic from the driver’s seat perspective.
You must only make a decision on what you can see in the picture, unless a question is asked directly about something else. You will be told how fast you are driving or where you must go. A question will then be asked about how you will continue, what will you do, or what you should be especially aware of. Other types of questions may also be asked.

drive past or passed

drive past or passed

Drive past or passed
“Drive past” indicates that you literally drove past B on the way to your office.
Can I say like this,

If you are referring to a distance or a period of time before now, use “past”: “the police car drove past the suspect’s house” (distance) or “the team performed well in the past” (time). If you are describing the action of passing, however, you need to use “passed”: “when John passed the gravy, he spilled it on his lap,” “the teacher was astonished that none of the students had passed the test,” “after a brief illness, he passed away.” Remember that no matter however you have ”passed the time” you have never “past the time,” not even in the distant past.
“Past” can be an adjective, a noun, a preposition, or an adverb, but never a verb. If you need to write the past tense of the verb “to pass,” use “passed.”

If you want to drive a large vehicle (category C) or a bus (category D) the local traffic commissioner must agree – DVLA will ask them when you apply for your new full licence.
There’s a different process in Northern Ireland.

You must put an L plate on the front and back of your vehicle so they can be seen easily.

  • have a red L or D on a white background
  • be the right size

Passed and past are often confused, but if you really think about it, they shouldn’t be.

You’ll get a letter at the test centre. It’ll tell you which parts you did not score enough points on so you know what to practise.

If you want to pass your theory test, there’s no substitute for preparing thoroughly. More than half of candidates fail their theory test and the most common cause is a lack of preparation, so get revising now if your test is due. Make it easy for yourself by purchasing some theory test aids; a few pounds spent now could save you a load of time, hassle and cost in the future.
It’s not just a lack of preparation that catches out some candidates. Some fail because they don’t know what’s expected of them. Others may have problems reading and/or writing, but if that applies to you there’s help available. You could be given extra time to answer the questions, or if you prefer you can listen to the questions rather than read them.

Once you have your provisional Licence, you can then start thinking about your theory test. You need to pass your theory test before you can take your practical driving test.

driving pass rates

driving pass rates

13 December 2018
Data tables for driving tests updated for April to June 2020.

Men were consecutively more likely than women to pass practical driving tests in the United Kingdom. In the past nine years, the gap between pass rates for male and female participants has stayed relatively stable, recording a net increase of 2.3 percent for men and 1.1 percent for women. This was despite a noticeable slump in the most recently surveyed time period. Practical and theory tests for car driving have been separated since 1997, with the last change in practical test layout implemented in December 2017. That month, only 45 percent of those taking the practical test had passed.
This statistic shows that women still struggled more than their male counterparts during the practical driving test. Interestingly, figures for pass rates of theory tests showed the exact opposite. In 2018/19, female participants were 3.5 percent more likely than men to be successful, although the gap has been narrowing in recent years. There was a prominent decline in the share of successful theory tests. This development is likely due to new theory questions no longer being released online as of 2012.

Compared to other cities across the UK, Dundee’s pass rate is sitting at 51.8%, that’s a decent bit higher than the national average of 47%. That means you are more likely to pass your driving test first time in Dundee. There are more test centres a little bit out of Dundee which have a slightly higher pass rate.
Other test centres that are near Dundee are Forfar (with a pass rate of 67.8%), Arbroath (with a pass rate of 65.3%) and Perth (with a pass rate of 53.5%). These test centres may have a higher pass rate, however, we recommend sitting your test in the place city you are more likely to drive in after passing.
